Fitzrovia Lates

Dorothy Bohm @ the Margaret Street Gallery

On the last Thursday of the month a number of Fitzrovia galleries open their doors for a group-hug of an evening – much like the Cork Street events of many years ago, recreated in London’s newest art hub. Fully twenty-five of the area’s galleries were involved in the September installment.

It turned out to be a great evening – we started at the Margaret Street Gallery for a last look at their Dorothy Bohm show – a pleasure to see and a shame it had to finish – moved onto England & Co, who were opening the highly entertaining ‘SCREEN PRACTICE: Video, photography, film, performance’.

Then off to Mummery + Schnelle, who’s ‘Essence of Place’ is a beautifully lo-fi collection of Columbian photography and video works from the 70s to now; ending up at Gallery Libby Sellers who, much like our first stop, were offering a final glimpse at their show – the hugely engaging ‘Hot Tools’ – before it comes down to make way for their Frieze offering.
